Meet Our MADWOMEN Panelist:
Elaine Krause is Creative Chief at Griffin York & Krause, a full-service marketing innovation company in Manchester, NH, that provides integrated communication and creative strategies. Elaine is responsible for managing the development of creative strategies, design products and services for GY&K clients. She oversees an exemplary staff of designers, copywriters and production coordinators.
Elaine began her career as a graphic artist at a design studio in Rhode Island after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is highly skilled in all forms of design and graphic production with a specialty in dimensional design and interiors.
During her 30-plus year career with Griffin York & Krause, Elaine has nurtured priceless client relationships with local, national and international clients in healthcare, finance, consumer goods, education, tourism, technology, and the list goes on.
She has dedicated countless hours of design and consulting services to area non-profits, most recently for the New Hampshire Food Bank.
Mary Johanna Brown is the Founder and President of two Portsmouth, New Hampshire businesses: Brown & Company Design, a nationally recognized, 10-person strategic design firm established in 1992, and big brown books, a publishing company established in 1997. Brown & Company Design's clients include USFIRST, Phillips Exeter Academy, The Sonoran Institute, Gemline and Telluride Film Festival. As an active member of the Seacoast New Hampshire community, Mary Jo has served on several local not-for-profit boards, and is the current Chair of the New Hampshire Women's Initiative. Mary Jo holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of New Hampshire and is a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire. She is a New Hampshire Magazine Remarkable Woman, and she is a recipient of the Union Leader inaugural “Top 40 Under 40”. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, walking, photography, singing, eating at diners, and dressing up in vintage clothing with her seven-year-old daughter. Her dream is to grow a giant pumpkin that weighs over 800 pounds, and to win a blue ribbon prize in the county fair.
Heidi Copeland is president of Millyard Communications, Inc. in Manchester, NH where she oversees the publishing, contract publishing, and event divisions. Millyard Communications’ primary publication is Business NH Magazine and the firm’s flagship event is the Made in NH Expo, which promotes the purchase of locally-made products.
Prior to purchasing Millyard Communications, Copeland was vice president of the company and associate publisher of Business NH Magazine. Before that, she was publisher of Telecommunications Magazine in Norwood, Mass.; publisher of ID Systems in Peterborough; and publisher of – ID Systems – European Edition, based in Brussels, Belgium.
She is a graduate of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and Copeland received her B.A. in journalism from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication. Her writing has been published in numerous newspapers including The Boston Globe and The Los Angeles Times.
Copeland’s past non-profit activity has included serving as a Zoning Board member for the Town of Peterborough, NH, and serving on the boards of the Peterborough Players, The Nature Conservancy and Chester College. She currently serves on the board of the Small Business Development Center and Leadership NH.
Copeland lives in Peterborough, NH with her husband, Michael Wozmak.

The Club also offers memberships for college and university students and provides opportunities to meet, learn, and interact with professionals from around the state.
